Greetings and welcome back to my “Musing about Adventures into Classical Editions Play” blog. It’s been an eventful two years, and finally my life has stablised enough to end its long hiatus. My interest in blogging has been nil up to this point, because of various stresses that I have been dealing with at work and a general lack of motivation to do anything remotely creative while at home. Well, that has all changed, so back to blogging I go.
There are no grand plans for this blog except to muse upon older editions of D&D and their various simulacrums, as well as create content for them. That being said, the core focus of this blog will initially be focused on preparation for a potential 1e AD&D campaign that I want to run this winter for some friends online.
Part of this will include me posting a weekly blog series focused on creating a setting for the campaign using Erol Otus’ “Gary ’75 Challenge” pdf. Beyond the weekly Gary ’75 posts, I plan on also posting various house rules for the campaign. All of which I’ll collect and compile into a pdf for my players (and whoever else who may desire such a document). I’ll be posting links to my Gary ’75 Challenge Pinterest and any legal sources for materials I’ll be using in the Challenge and the upcoming online campaign.
I have to thank Ben (@/RogueCaliber on Twitter) for turning me onto the recently released OSRIC Player’s Guide (https://a.co/d/1QV8fMD for the print version) and Lee (@/osgamer74 on Twitter) for his worldbuilding Tweets for inspiring me to wanting to run an online game. Lee’s digital maps for his OSE campaigns are awesome and ever so inspiring to me.
I will close this post and see y’all next Friday when I post the first week’s progress for the Gary ’75 Winter Challenge. Till then I bid y’all ado. Fin.
